Allows you to drive a vehicle up to 18,000kg or a combination vehicle up to 12,000kg.
The Class 2 Learner Licence is a computer based theory test. We can provide full training for this licence.
Duration: We encourage learners to allow approximately 1 week for a blend of tuition (if required) and self-directed study to best prepare for the Class 2 Learner Licence test.
How do I gain the licence? A 1 hour online test that you sit at an approved testing facility.
Prerequisites:
You must have held a full NZ Class 1 (car) licence for at least 6 months.
You must obtain/present a medical certificate less than 60 days old unless you have lodged one with NZTA in the last 5 years.
Standard Duration
You can hold your Learners Licence for 6 months and do a lesson based training programme to pass the test with a testing officer, or:

You can do a Unit Standard based short course, which includes practical training and assessment by Matapuna Driver Training to fast track your licence

Duration: You are required to hold your Learners Licence for 6 months over this time you are expected to undertake appropriate driving lessons and driving practice.
How do I gain the licence? A practical driving test assessed by a VTNZ approved testing officer.

Duration: Approximately 3 days of training depending on prior experience and allowing for your schedule.
