You are able to obtain a Class 4 Learners Licence for a fee when you’ve held your Class 2 full licence for a required amount of time – talk to a member of our friendly team to discuss your options!
Duration: No duration as simply a fee paid.
How do I gain the licence? A fee is paid to licensing agent.
Prerequisites:
You must have held a Class 2 licence for at least 6 months (or 3 months if you are over 25).
You must obtain a medical certificate unless you have lodged one with NZTA in the previous 5 years.
Standard Duration
You can hold your Learners Licence for 6 months and do a lesson based training programme to pass the test with a testing officer, or:
Accelerated Duration
You can do a Unit Standard based short course, which includes practical training and assessment by Matapuna Driver Training to fast track your licence
Prerequisites:
You must have held a full NZ Class 4 licence for at least 6 months.
You must obtain/present a medical certificate less than 60 days old unless you have lodged one with NZTA in the last 5 years.
Duration: You are required to hold your Learners Licence for 6 months over this time you are expected to undertake appropriate driving lessons and driving practice.
How do I gain the licence? A practical driving test assessed by a VTNZ approved testing officer.
Prerequisites:
You must hold a Class 4 Learners Licence. We will require a copy of this before booking.
You must obtain/present a medical certificate less than 60 days old unless you have lodged one with NZTA in the last 5 years.
Duration: Approximately 3 days of training depending on prior experience and allowing for your schedule.
How do I gain the licence? After the 3 days of training lessons (both class room and practical) you will be assessed by Matapuna Driver Training.
